Thomas Fritts writes: Jim and I became friends in Mrs. Bennet's speech class. He was of Polish American background, and his single parent mother had moved from Chicago to Phoenix because of his asthma. After West High he went to Arizona State University and got a degree in mass communications. After he was diagnosed with cancer in 1974,he self published a 44 page book of poetry called TYPEFACED. I was living in California in 1975, but I did visit him in the hospital one last time in September of that year. I still have his little book. I look at it and I wonder whether or not I am the only one who remembers him.

I remember Jim too. He wrote a poem in my senior Westerner He was fun to work with on the SunDial. I was sad to hear he died so young.
