John was a great classmate and an integral part of our class and group of friends. He was a leader and also a lot of fun. I remember we were all so proud to hold up our signs at the varsity basketball game that said proudly “He’s a Sophomore”!! A superb athlete in multiple sports, and seemed to excel in everything. Most importantly, he was just a nice guy. May he Rest In Peace.
Oh, Maureen, isn't that the truth? John was such a "force" in our class. I have been working on photo displays for our 50th and images of John are throughout them. He was a part of so many activities, memories, and special times with so many of us in the Class of 1969. I remember how stunningly beautiful his eyes were, such a handsome young man. He and all of our other classmates who have departed will be sorely missed in October, but the imprints they all made on our hearts will be with us forever in sweet remembrance.
John was undeniably smart, athletic, successful, and had a big personality. But the aspect of John that I miss the most was an attribute he kept hidden too much of the time. John had a very tender heart.
I agree . . .He was there for everyone - with a smile, a sweet look . . .he was just awesome . a spirit that was huge . ..he will be sorely missed and always remembered . .sam
